So this is a new year, and for most people, that means it's time to start fresh. I'm sure you have set a New Year Resolution for yourself (like you probably do every year). This year, my New Year Resolution (that I've already failed by the way) was not to eat meat for the first three weeks. When I decided to make this resolution, I didn't decide with my weight in mind. It wasn't something that I decided for the physical, but it was something that I wanted to work on mentally. I decided on this resolution because I believe it will help me gain control over my body again. Just like if I set my alarm and say that I'm going to wake up everyday at 4a to go for a jog... It's not really about the running, but more about controlling my mind and training myself. So ultimately, I guess my new year's resolution is to train myself... To train myself to do what I want, when I want.
We all go into the year thinking about how we look, how long our hair is, or how much weight we want to lose. Maybe this year, for everyone, we can go into it with a different mindset. Let's take control, of our bodies, of our minds, of our lives. We have to stop looking at the world around us and start looking at the world within us. We are each a droplet that can make a ripple, but we have to start with ourselves. Let's make 2011 about inner change, then we can watch the world change through different eyes.
Cheers to the New Year. :)
